The 811 Poster Contest is a student poster contest that is being brought to you by the US Department of Transportation (USDOT), Pipeline and Hazardous Materials Safety Administration (PHMSA), the National Energy Foundation (NEF) and Common Ground Alliance (CGA).

This exciting contest is designed to combine artistic talent with students’ ideas on how to be safe around underground pipelines and utilities. We invite you to register now and request a contest packet for your class by visiting energysafekids.org/811-poster-contest.

The contest packet includes: an instructional poster, brochure with contest instructions, classroom set of poster boards for student art and a postage paid envelope to submit entries.

Deadline: May 12, 2017 for all poster entries.

The first 811 students will receive an 811 T-shirt and remaining participants a certificate of participation.

The grand prize winner will receive a trip to Washington D.C. (student and a parent/guardian) before August 2017.

The grand prize winner’s teacher will be awarded an $811.00 classroom education mini-grant.

Honorable mention student winners and their teachers will receive a Kindle Fire with Alexa 7″ tablet.
