AGENDA

09:00 AM – New Developments in the Treatment of Injured Workers and how these Changes will Impact Employers presented by – Mark Coleman, OTR/L; Occupational Therapist; Owner – Workability PLC
This presentation will bring attendees up to speed on some recent findings in the field of neuroscience and how these findings have the potential to significantly change the way we treat and manage work place injuries.
We are beginning to see that we have a far greater ability to control (turn on and off) our experience of pain than we ever thought. These new findings have the potential to make a significant impact on those workers who experience chronic/ongoing pain i.e. chronic back pain. This is the group that struggle at work and struggle to get back to work after an injury. This is also the group that health care has historically achieved poor results with, and the group that generates the greatest cost.
The presentation will provide attendees with some simple steps on how they can start to integrate this new understanding into their company health and safety program.
Mark Coleman owns and operates a small growing Vermont based business that focuses on the treatment, management and prevention of work place injuries. He works on a regular basis with; Dealer.com, National Life Group, Vermont National Guard, Saint Michael’s College and Middlebury College.
